Menashe Kadishman was an appreciated artist (sculptor and painter) in Israel and around the world.
Born in 1935, Tel Aviv, Israel.
Died in 2015, Tel Aviv, Israel.
Kadishman was a prolific artist, who through endless creativity explored new topics and materials. Through his art he expressed an idea or theme that aroused the mind of the observer because each work presented visually a poignant critique, metaphor, forgotten memories or hidden message.
Kadishman's works are displayed throughout Israel and the world.
Among other things, he presented a solo exhibition at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, (1975), the Israeli Pavilion, the Biennale of Art, Venice, Italy (1978), the 18th Biennale Sao Paulo (1985), the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv (1987 and 1996) And the Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1990).
Kadishman has won the most important awards in the art world. Among the prizes he won were the first prize for sculpture, Paris Biennale (1967), the Sandberg Prize, the Israel Museum (1978), the Jury Prize, the Norwegian International Biennale for Printing (1981). In 1995 he received the Israel Prize for Sculpture.
