Uri Stettner was an Israeli painter.
Born in 1935, Tel Aviv, Israel. Died in 1999, Tel Aviv, Israel.
Uri Stettner, an autodidact painter, who over the years developed a unique painting poetics, "Stettner", a stream in itself. In his painting, Stettner strives to concisely merge between expressiveness and refinement. The expressive and dynamic violence of a brush that characterized his early paintings gave way to internalized energy in the paintings of recent years. Uri Stetner was called among Israeli artists as "painter of painters".
Stettner exhibited in Paris and in Israel. His works are in museums in Israel and in private collections in Israel and abroad.
In 1994, he held a retrospective exhibition at the Ein Harod Museum of Art and the Herzliya Museum. In 2001, an exhibition was held in his memory at the Ramat Gan Museum.
In 1975 he was awarded the Eugen Kolb Prize by the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
