Moshe Mokady was an Israeli artist
Born in 1902, Tarnov,Poland.
Died in 1978, Ein Hod, Israel.
Mokady began as an expressive painter, influenced by Soutine and Alfred Avdram. Over the years, Moshe's painting changed and he became calmer, more spiritual. The special language of his paintings, the enigmatic that arose from the solitary characters, and the message of his late painting, which wanted only rhythm, only structure, color and light - always attracted attention and interest in their creator.
He had solo exhibition in various galleries and in all Israel museums, which also acquired his paintings.
A memorial exhibition was held in 1999 at the Tel Aviv Museum.
He was awarded the Dizengoff Prize three times, and won first prize at the exhibition of Israeli Art held in Washington in 1951.
