The choice of the painting base in Menuhin's works (in this exhibition, PVC foamed and bedclothes) is not coincidental and is an integral and important part of the painting itself. The base of the painting can be treated as a "readymade", and as such carries a previous charge and constitutes a significant motive for starting the work.

Menuhin goes on to deepen his painting poeticism. His paintings invite intimate and chambery contemplation: aesthetic sensibility and refinement lead to a beauty that is unadorned beauty. The emotional experience that emerges from them is that of an attempt to detach oneself from the material into a spiritual-metaphysical dimension.
